Reports

National and international disease reporting systems, in association with disease surveillance programmes and international and national pathogen lists, support good governance by providing evidence of national aquatic animal health status that can be used by trading partners to support risk analysis and decisions on trade in aquatic commodities. Emergency reporting of serious disease outbreaks or the first appearance of a listed disease in a country may also allow national authorities to take immediate action via contingency plans to eradicate the pathogen or contain its distribution. They also allow trading partners to take appropriate actions should they have imported infected or suspect stock from the country or region in question. Further information on disease reporting can be found in Regional Disease Reports section and Global Disease reports section, from the FAO/NACA Quarterly Disease Reporting System and from the OIE.
